President Biden and the First Lady will travel to Atlanta next Thursday to mark his 100th day in office, according to the White House and Press Secretary, Jen Psaki. April 29th will mark President Biden’s 100th day in office. Biden’s visit to Atlanta comes one day after his speech to a joint session of Congress.
The President was scheduled to hold a “thank you” car rally upon the passage of the American Rescue Plan. However, the mass shootings at the Asian-American-owned spas in the Atlanta area shifted the focus and delayed original plans. President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senators Jon Ossoff, and Reverend Raphael G. Warnock met with members of the Asian-American community as well as toured the CDC headquarters.
Indications are a drive-in rally is in the works for Biden’s visit.
His second visit comes as Georgia’s controversial new voting law has put the Peach State in the spotlight. Biden has called the law “Jim Crow in the 21st century” and “a blatant attack on the Constitution,” and said the Justice Department is taking a look at it.
More to come.
