The Atlanta Dream snapped their three-game losing streak after defeating the New York Liberty 73-69 on Tuesday night in Gateway Center Arena.

The Atlanta Dream was fueled with 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists from starting guard Courtney Williams. Williams did most of her work in the paint shooting 47.1% from the field. Williams is in the running to become a first-time WNBA All-Star and padded her resume tonight. Crystal Bradford came off the bench and put on a show for Atlanta as well. Bradford posted 14 points and seven rebounds on 66.7% shooting from three. This was a career-high performance in points and rebound for Bradford. She has been averaging seven points this season and doubled it tonight with her extra minutes.

The two Eastern Conference foes battled out in a close game all night. Each of the Liberty’s stars had good performances but they were not able to get help from the bench. Forwards Betnijah Laney and Michaela Onyenwere put up 16 and 13 points, respectfully. However, New York’s Sabrina Ionescu struggled shooting tonight as she shot a mere 28.6% from the field for six points. Meanwhile, Atlanta did a great job swinging the ball around as their bench provided 25 points.

The Dream is now 6-9 as they have been struggling to get consistent wins this season. The team is set on getting to .500 before the Olympic break. With starting guard Tiffany Hayes out with an MCL tear, splitting the series with New York was important. The Dream will have a rematch with the Seattle Storm this Friday in the sleepless city. The Storm is currently the top seed in the Western Conference.
