Don’t put away those winter clothes just yet. The below freezing temperatures that have hit the north eastern part of the country over the pst few weeks aren’t going away for at least another day or two.
A strong blast or arctic air could result in snow flurries and an accumulation of snow in the Northern parts of Georgia as well as the Metro Atlanta area by early Tuesday morning.
The best chance for snow is likely to be late Tuesday and into Wednesday. In Metro Atlanta, about ½ to ¼ inch of snow is expected to fall.
In the higher elevations across the state of Georgia, 1 to 2 inches of snow are expected.
But the problem, Atlanta area meteorologists warn, isn’t the snow, or even the temperature itself, but the wind chill factor. Temperatures plus wind chill could feel like anywhere from between five degrees above to five degrees below zero.
A Winter weather advisory has also been issued for North Georgia beginning Tuesday morning and lasting until Wednesday morning.
