Hunt, 48, spent the last three seasons in Dallas and prior to that a total of 17 years as an assistant coach in the NBA. The Tallulah, Lousiana native played his college ball at Baylor University and coached in the high school and college ranks before moving on to the NBA in 1999.

Hunt and Pierce worked together for three years in Cleveland.

An official announcement is expected to be made via the team later this week.
