The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Miami Heat 110-104 at Philips Arena on Mon., Dec. 18. The win improves the Hawks record to 7-23, while the visiting Miami Heat fell to .500 with a 15-15 record.

Leading the way for Atlanta was Taurean Prince who scored 24 points. Dennis Schroder scored 23, and Ken Bazemore added 16.

The Miami Heat, who were without two of their best players in center Hassan Whiteside and guard Goran Dragic, were led by forward Josh Richardson with 26 points. Guard Dion Waiters added 23.

Atlanta shot 45.8  percent from the floor, but struggled from the three-point line. going just 8 of 22. The Hawks had 13 turnovers; the Heat had 19.

The Hawks did a good job sharing the ball, with 25 assists to just 19 for the Heat, but lost the battle on the glass, pulling down 39 rebounds to Miami’s 42.

Next up for the Hawks is a home game on Wed., Dec. 20 against the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers will come into Philips Arena after losing a fought battle with the conference-leading Boston Celtics, falling 112-111 Monday night in Indianapolis. The Pacers have a record of 17-14.
