The third Ladies of Business Conference has been scheduled for May 19-20 at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Atlanta. Created in 2013 by founders Bianca Rush and Dayira “Dayybella” Jones, the two-day conference and women’s empowerment brunch was created to spawn lasting connections between women of color.
“We were tired of seeing the same events taking place in Atlanta none of them were providing an outlet and platform for black entrepreneurship,” Jone said. “So with the help of a few friends creating flyers, networking and such, the brunch was created.”
This year’s keynote speakers include Rasheeda (from VH-1’s “Love and Hip Hop ATL” franchise), Adi Havely (co-founder and CEO of Temiblends) and Courtney Adeleye (The Mane Choice), join a stage that has been shared by media personalities, Karen Civil, Toya Wright, Elle Varner and Kahlana Barfield in previous years.
Organizers said that participants will be taught how to build a brand from scratch, grow a social media following, learn strategies brands have used, go from employee to boss and how to successfully leverage mentorship to further their careers. According to co-founder Bianca Rush,
“This conference and brunch will be what you make it,” explained co-founder Rush. “We have a diverse group of successful women that come to inspire, empower and educate a whole new generation of entrepreneurs, that it would be the furthest thing from the truth to say you didn’t learn anything.”
Attendees will enjoy a catered event, cocktails, craft photo booth pictures, clothing lines dealers, and one-on-one panels, workshops that cater to personal interest and more.
When asked what plans the ladies have for furthering the brand of the Ladies of Business conference, they responded, “to see it grow internationally.”
