TV One recently celebrated the pre-launch of its newest platform CLEO TV in Atlanta. Held at the Gathering Spot ATL, the exclusive celebration was held on Nov. 29 and consisted of a star-studded attendance.

CLEO TV aims at becoming an aspirational lifestyle and entertainment cable network targeting Millennial and Gen x women of color. Broadly distributed on Comcast Xfinity, beginning January 2019, the network promises to offer a diverse lineup of unique programming for multicultural young women.

As the General Manager of TV One and the founder of CLEO TV, Michelle Rice graced the stage and expressed her elation that the network is finally coming.

”I think this is a very important time in our history for women to see women at the forefront of different areas: politics, entertainment, and sports just to name a few,” said Rice.

After referring to CLEO TV as her baby, she continued, “It’s really our time, particularly for women of color, Millennials, and Gen x women; they have such an authentic voice. And so this network, CLEOTV will be lifestyle and entertainment really targeted to tell their stories. So we’re really really excited about this opportunity.”

The celebration for the new network attracted some of Atlanta’s top influencers including, actress Demetria McKinney, radio host Gary with da Tea, and the ladies of “Sister Circle Live.”

CLEO TV even received a shoutout from Urban Media’s Kathy Hughes, who took to Twitter and said, “I thank God for the blessing of adding a companion network to @TvOneTV and I thank Comcast for giving us the opportunity to expand our reach and coverage of the African American community. Welcome to @MyCleoTV.”

A few stars of the network’s upcoming programming also made appearances including Chef Jernard who will appear on “New Soul Kitchen.” During the festivities, he discussed the concept of his new show and what viewers can expect.

“I’m giving them the best of both worlds. Me and my co-host Porsche Thomas not only are we doing southern modified styled cooking of which I am known for creating and doing healthy spins on but everything that I do she will do vegan.”

“New Soul Kitchen” will appear in CLEO TV’s initial lineup along with “Just Eats With Chef JJ” during the first quarter of 2019. The network will introduce “Living By Design With Jake and Jazz,” during its second quarter and two travel series in the following quarter.

Additionally, “Sister Circle Live,” and syndicated sitcoms “Girlfriends” and “Eve” are set to appear on CLEO TV as well. The network’s goal is to slowly introduce quality programs centered travel, fashion, cooking, and provide interesting docu-series.

CLEO TV’s debut is scheduled to launch Jan. 19, 2019, on Comcast’s Xfinity platform.
