Lately, I have really been evaluating where I am in my life. Especially now, as turning 40 is knocking on my door and other life occurrences are taking place.

As I sit and evaluate where I am in business, in my home, as a wife, mother, etc., I have come to a major realization: I have not been living a fulfilled life. Nor have I lived life to the fullest.

I have allowed excuses, fear, other people’s opinion of me and self-sabotage, among other things, to hold me back from really becoming the best version of myself.

The more I have evaluated my life, the more I have started to question where I am on my journey.

Patterns and processes are a part of life. But until you understand yours and where you really are, things won’t change.

Over the last few weeks, Mathews 7:7-8 kept coming to me:

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

This is a process with promises attached to it.

Are you in the asking phase, where you are constantly asking God for something but you don’t go beyond that?

You don’t seek him beyond asking for something, and you don’t get up to take action. You are stuck in waiting.

Maybe it’s what you’re asking for.

Are you asking for His plan and guidance or more so what you want? Are you willing to lay down your plans and say ‘Father, have your way.’?

Maybe you have done that and now you are in the seek phase.

In the seek phase, you desire to be in His presence more and more. You are truly seeking His face, His kingdom and His righteousness, but you are not taking action.

In seeking Him, He will give you a plan and a means of implementation. But are you listening, and are you moving?

The last phase is knock. In the knocking phase, you are communicating with God consistently, listening for His direction and voice.

You are leaning upon Him and His wisdom. You are moving when He says move, and you are taking action.

In this phase, things are moving because YOU ARE. And you are no longer taking “no” for an answer.

As God brought this to my attention, I realized that I am in transition from “Ask” to “Seek” in some areas of my life, and from “Seek” to “Knock” in others.

And I am grateful that I now know where I stand and why. So, what phase are you in?
