The much-anticipated Mayor’s Masked Ball was founded by Hank Aaron and then-Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young 38 years ago as a way to raise money for UNCF scholarships.

This year, Atlanta’s UNCF ball has earned nearly $1.5 million, the most earned out of any of the other 17 balls hosted across the country.
