During the Disney Dreamers Academy event, media were presented a Summer Showcase of what’s new and coming to Walt Disney World this summer.
Two new shows and a nighttime parade were announced for Summer 2025 which include:
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away
· Dreams Come Alive: Find a sweet spot under the start to watch Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, a shimmering processional inspired by the classic Main Street Electrical Parade. It’s a star-kissed constellation of Disney dreams, brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy.
· Guests will have the opportunity to watch as enchanting moments unfold from favorite Disney and Pixar stories such as Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, Pinocchio, and more. It all happens along the parade route, from Frontierland to Main Street.
Disney Startlight: Dream the Night Away is scheduled to debut Summer 2025 at Magic Kingdom.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
· Mischievous or Just Misunderstood: Behold a fiendishly funny and fantastical stage show starring iconic Disney villains who are feeling unfairly treated. Enter the realm of the Magic Mirror, where dozens of villains are trapped. They want the Mirror to reveal the truth: Which villain has been treated the most unfairly of them all? Watch as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent present their cases on stage, persuading with wicked wisdom and wisecracks. Will you be swayed by their hijinks and humor?
· This is a spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale, where you will help decide who has been treated most unfairly.

The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure – Hollywood Studios
· Relieve Ariel’s enchanting story in this dazzling theatrical production inspired by the animated classic, The Little Mermaid.
· A Mermaid Fairy Tail: Watch as Ariel follows her dreams to be part of the human world. This little mermaid’s adventure is brimming with familiar moments, like encounters with King Triton and Ursula, and stirring scenes. Throughout Ariel’s journey, get swept away by moving musical numbers like “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Kiss the Girl” and more. This fin-tastic tale is enhanced with stunning set pieces and cutting-edge effects that capture Ariel’s imagination and emotions.
The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure debuts May 27, 2025 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Animation Courtyard.
Sr. Audio Systems Designer Clint Clarke says Disney is making memories and want people to have the “next core memory” that lasts for the next 20-30 years.
“We want to evoke the next core memory that passes through generations where you can say ‘I remember on May 27, 2025 where I sat in the theater and heard from Maleficent and heard her side of the story’, it’s one of those things that elevates the world of Disney,” he said.
As far as the choice to highlight Disney villains and tell their story, Clarke said everyone should have a chance to tell their story. With retellings of stories like the Cruella de Vil movie featuring Emma Stone, he said it’s important to hear the villains side to understand their perspective.
“Why not give them a shot? For so long, everyone has tagged them as villains. If I was Maleficent or any of the villains, I’d be mad too if I was left out of the party,” he said. “It’s all about giving them their shot and a chance to be on the frontlines.”
Additionally, Disney announced starting May 27 there will be a 50% off discount for children tickets, a three-day-three-park ticket offer,
