The Synchronicity Theatre in Midtown Atlanta recently hosted the opening night of “The Wash”, a play based on the Atlanta Washerwomen’s Strike of 1881, which tells the story of black laundresses who fought for their rights and became one of the largest interracial labor strikes in post-Civil War America.
