During a recent sermon, I heard again that the devil is a liar. He specializes in deceit. Youโve probably heard that too. How does it go? Harden not your heart when you hear the Word of God. Now, if you can fathom this, then that means the voice you do hear causing you to resist Godโs voice is that of the devil. According to the bible, it is at these times that one needs to be careful. Youโre entering into deep waters.โSome people are like seeds along the path where the Word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the Word that was sown in them.โMark 4:15. If you could only recognize when youโre being fooled, manipulated, or used by someone or something. If you could, most of us would handle the situation accordingly.ย ย Emotionally, we probably reacted and responded appropriately when we discovered we were being used or made a fool of by somebody. Iโm guessing it wasnโt a pretty sight for the perpetrator of such an act towards you. After pain comes anger. After anger usually comes action.ย ย Itโs not pretty. If only the devil would show his hand, how God shows His. Now it makes even more sense.
The devil is a liar because he has to be. He specializes in presenting situations in such a manner that heโs the last person you suspect of making your life an absolute hell here on earth.โAnd no wonder, for satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is unsurprising if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.โ 2 Corinthians 11:14-15. So letโs take another look at this thing. It would appear that when satan is hard at work in your life, it is probably at a time when you are most likely trying to hear the Word of the Lord in your life. The bible says to watch out here because it is at these times that so-called supporters, friends, advice givers, and confidants show up to supposedly help us, guide, and console us. If the truth be told, you can look back now and realize it was the devil at work. If we only knew then what we know now, it would have been easy to have made the right choices. But the devil is so cunning that at the moment of truth, he sees that we blame others, rationalize our actions, defend our sins, and otherwise fault life for what we have total control over.
In the name of everything but Satan, we explain it all away and thereby clear out the path straight to hell, when all we had to do was listen to that deep, still voice from within, which belongs to God. Rarely do we permit ourselves the time and depth of thought to recognize he is in the middle of many a regrettable morning after. If we did, the Word of God would emerge out of what appears to be a mess and lead us into a whole chaotic circumstance. Once you get on this path of righteousness, losing your way is hard. At this point, how we live becomes second nature to why we live. The point Iโm making is that recognition is the most powerful trait. When you understand this, the why of life, the how of life becomes much easier.โBe careful how you live- not as unwise but wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lordโs will is.โ Ephesians 4:15-18. The key to recognizing the difference between Godโs Word and Satanโs is that one uplifts you while the other seeks to destroy you.
May God bless and keep you always.
