The City College of New York’s City College Center for the Arts is hosting a virtual event in celebration of Otis Williams’ 80th birthday November 1 at 7:30 p.m. He is the sole surviving member of The Temptations.

The event will be taking place in Aaron Davis Hall and will be simulcast online.

Williams has won Grammy Awards and has a 60 year legacy in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.In addition to celebrating his birthday, Williams is also celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Motown Records group.

The Temptations were among the first Black musical groups or artists to be able to cross over into mainstream music. They appeared on several national programs throughout their career and even starred in a network special called Taking Care of Business (TCB) with Diana Ross and The Supremes. Musician and composer K. Sparks will host the event, which will also feature special guests.
