Atlanta Metropolitan State College was buzzing with energy Saturday as nearly 700 fans filled the gym for the annual Hardwood Classic, a celebrity basketball showdown hosted by Streetz 94.5 personality J Smoke.
Blending sports, entertainment, and civic engagement, the event showcased a dynamic mix of local influence and star power, all centered on giving back to the Atlanta community. The hardwood was packed with familiar faces, including Scrappy, Parlae, Roscoe Dash, Alexia Adams, Gorilla Zoe, Princess of Crime Mob, Big Marco, and other notable guests who kept the crowd on its feet throughout the game.

Community leadership was also front and center, with elected officials stepping out of their day jobs and into the game. Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington and Sheriff Patrick โPatโ Labat joined the action, reinforcing the eventโs message of unity and service.
According to J Smoke, the Hardwood Classic was designed to be more than entertainment. โThis event is about connectionโbringing together people who have influence and using that platform to uplift the city,โ he said. โThe turnout shows how much Atlanta supports efforts that give back.โ
In addition to the celebrity matchup, attendees benefited from community-centered initiatives, including a $500 grocery giveaway and youth-focused activities, ensuring the Classic delivered real impact beyond the scoreboard.
The event was supported by a strong network of partners, including Go SayHello, GA Spartans, JR Law Group, Rolling Out Magazine, Lex Enterprises, The Allen Law Group, and Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
