James A. Washington, esteemed president and general manager of The Atlanta Voice and longtime advocate for the Black Press, passed away at 73. His legacy spans journalism, community service, and advocacy, leaving a profound impact on the media landscape.
A viewing will be held on Tues., April 9, from 12-8pm at Murray Brothers Funeral Home, Inc.
His funeral service will be held at Elizabeth Baptist Church on Wed. April 10, at 11am. The service can be live-streamed on the church’s website.
A memorial service will also be held in Dallas, TX at Friendship-West Baptist Church on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11am.
