When I reviewed the 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan last year and shared on my Instagram, I was blown away at first sight, followed by the thrilling ride it produced. Although that particular model is discontinued, my highly anticipated wait for the next Alfa Romeo was finally over a year later with the 2025 Giulia Veloce AWD. Checking the boxes regarding exterior design, affordability, and an overall exhilarating driving experience, the Giulia—pronounced “joo·lee·uh”—is one of my top cars of the year.

There is no mystery regarding Italy’s dedication to style whether its fashion or, yes, automobiles, and this sports-driven vehicle maintains the globally lauded reputation. The captivation starts with the stunning Verde Fangio Metallic paint turning more heads than a tennis match during my cruising through Miami, Florida on business. Alfa Romeo evidently knows how to, shall I say,  fearlessly flex with their eccentric hues of green; the dark turbine 18-inch aluminum wheels complete with the traditional five holes, frowning LED Trilobe headlamps, and triangular grille in black boasting the carmaker’s shield collectively brings an aggressive, yet refined edginess. The red Brembo calipers peeking through the rims further signifies the Veloce wants all the smoke.

Under the hood, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine packs a 280-horsepower punch paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with aluminum paddle shifters to provide more racing inspiration. The Veloce bends corners with authority thanks to standard all-wheel drive, a forgiving sport suspension, and limited-slip differential. Alfa’s DNA driving modes—Dynamic, Natural, and Advanced Efficiency—customize the driving dynamics based on explosiveness, everyday driving, and being economically sound with limited gas consumption respectively. It was a no-brainer for me; Dynamic was always my choice.

The cabin, frankly, is strictly business. The black sport leather seats uphold the sporty theme, and the highly recommended dual-pane sunroof—which comes optional—are the standouts. Both the front and rear seats come heated, pampering all passengers especially during unforgiving winters. On the tech side, Alfa Romeo goes the user-friendly route and acknowledges the necessities without overwhelming the driver. The 8.8-inch infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and wireless charging with a no-nonsense 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster fit the bill.

To ease the mind, advanced safety and driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, driver attention alert, active blind-spot assist, full-speed forward collision warning, and traffic sign recognition. The Active Driving Assist System provides a semi-autonomous feature for long excursions, while parking gets easier with front and rear sensors, plus a rear-view camera.

Priced from $45,995, my review model boasted a few modifications I highly recommend, including the 22M Customer Preferred Package—Driver Assist, Sunroof, leather seats, and 19-inch wheels—along with the Verde paintjob collectively topping out at just over $55k. If your finances and overall love for driving can afford it, the 2025 Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce feels worth every euro.
