The first presidential debate in Atlanta for the 2024 Presidential Election between POTUS Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump kicked off with a bang.
During a watch party at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Biden supporters showed up with their “Let’s Go Joe”, “Biden-Harris”, and “Women for Biden” shirts. The energy was high the minute the debate started. There was not a dull moment during the watch party.
With high energy music and food, supporters of Biden were hyped to start the debate. The crowd had their smiles and hopes for the first night of a long election season
During the debate, many of Biden’s supporters cheered and yelled “Let’s Go Joe” during his turn. Also, when Trump tried to rebuttal, many of the supporter’s Boo’d and shouted F-bombs towards the viewing screen.
Most of the times during the debate when Trump spoke, the crowd shouted in anger and Boo’d loudly.
The crowd was the loudest when Biden rebuttal to Trump’s statements about overturning Roe V. Wade, and Biden said he supported the law. The crowd whistled, screamed, and clapped as loud as they could when Biden said those words.
For a moment during the watch party around 9:40 p.m., the feed stopped, which made the crowd upset, but it was quickly turned back on.
Also, people were shouting “shut up” during Trump’s turn with one supporter saying, “he’s talking out of his behind”.
One Biden supporter said if Trump is elected as an individual with 34 felonies, then the American people should protest to get other felons opportunities to vote and find jobs. Many of POTUS’ supporters showed up and showed out for the first presidential debate and some were holding up signs in support.
With the debate ending, there were mixed reactions, with some people saying Biden struggled to articulate his viewpoints and not fighting back much with Trump, and others were saying he struggled in the beginning, but pulled through a bit midway.
After the debate, the crowd got together with music blasting. The crowd shouting “Four more years” proves people want Biden in office again instead of Trump.
Also, POTUS and FLOTUS, Jill Biden, showed up to the after party briefly to talk with the crowd. POTUS said they will get rid of Trump, but he needs the help of all his supporters and the American people to get rid of him.
As Biden and FLOTUS excited to take pictures with the crowd, Beyoncé’s rendition of Before I Let Go started playing and everyone went wild. In the crowd, as well, was a big “J.O.E.” Sign that got the attention of POTUS, which put a big smile on his face.
It’s safe to say this first debate watch party was a huge motivator and rallied many people to vote come November.
The next debate will take place in Atlanta, Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. The Presidential Election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
