What began as a grassroots celebration of Atlanta pride has now been officially recognized at the highest levels of government. On Friday, April 4, 2025, the 404 Collective was honored with both a Congressional Proclamation and State Resolutions in recognition of their continued efforts to make 404 Day one of the cityโs most impactful celebrations of culture, community, and creativity.
Congresswoman Nikema Williams presented the Congressional Proclamation to the 404 Collective, honoring the group for their tireless work and commitment to establishing 404 Day as an official and meaningful celebration of all things Atlanta.

โReceiving this proclamation from Congress is bigger than usโitโs about the city we love and the people we represent,โ said Brandon Butler, founder of Butter ATL and a member of the 404 Collective. โWeโve been showing up for Atlanta for years, and itโs an incredible feeling to see that effort honored at the national level.โ
Later that same day, Georgia State Representative Eric Bell presented individual State Resolutions to each member of the 404 Collective, further recognizing their dedication to building 404 Day into an annual moment of pride and power for Atlanta.
These recognitions build upon the City Proclamation granted in 2021 by then-Councilman Andre Dickens, who now serves as Atlantaโs 61st mayor. That proclamation marked the beginning of official city recognition for 404 Day, a cultural holiday created by the people, for the city.
Together, these proclamations represent a milestone moment for the 404 Collective, a group of four Black-owned Atlanta-based businessesโButter ATL, Atlanta Influences Everything, Trap Music Museum, and Finish Firstโwho come together each year to bring 404 Day to life through powerful storytelling, cultural events, and community initiatives.
