While attending the Soul Train Awards, I had a quick chat with TMZ producer Raquel Harper, and when I tell you she was such a breath of fresh air and energy, know that is exactly what I mean.
The mother-of-two dished on her kids and remaining authentic, in an industry that loves to change people.
On her recent level of success:
Thank you! I appreciate it. It’s really a blessing. I thank God and my mama.
She continued:
My kids motivate me. Every time I look at my kids and I have a better situation, they motivate me and make me who I am.
On authenticity:
I’m just gonna be me. Nothing fake about me other than few tracks (starts laughing). I can’t be anybody else. I’m just Raquel. You tune in and you will tune into exactly who I am right now.

How can you not appreciate this gem? She’s hella friendly, funny, and embraces who she is. We need more of that.
