Kelvin King, the owner of an Atlanta construction company, is the first Republican that has formally filed paperwork to run against incumbent Senator Reverend Raphael G. Warnock for United States Senate. The news was first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

King is one of former President Trump’s most ardent supporters and is the CEO of Osprey Management. He is also a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy.

“Republicans in our state are at a crossroads,” said King in a statement. “We’ve seen what’s at stake in our country. The Biden Administration is currently wrecking our economy, creating a crisis at our border, and systematically dismantling every bit of the “America First” agenda implemented over the last four years. Career politicians, woke corporations, and the cancel culture are all empowered while our families and small businesses are left to pay the price. As the GOP, we have to decide right now if we are knocked down or knocked out. Personally, I am ready to take back our state and fight for the future of our country!”

According to King’s statement, he’s committed to lowering taxes, securing the U.S.-Mexico border, strengthening our military, and supporting the United States military. He’s also against abortion, for the strengthening of the 2nd Amendment, religious liberty and small government, traditional hallmarks of conservatism.

King will undoubtedly the first of a cadre of Republicans that will likely mount a challenge for Warnock’s seat, which will be carefully watched not only by Georgia Republican key makers but also former President Trump. In a speech in Palm Beach Saturday night, Trump proclaimed the Republicans will take back Congress and the White House, given that any candidate embraces his agenda.

“I stand before you this evening filled with confidence that in 2022, we are going to take back the House (of Representatives) and we are going to reclaim the Senate. And then in 2024, a Republican candidate is going to win the White House,” he said.

Former Senator Kelly Loeffler, former U.S. Representative Doug Collins, U.S. Representative Buddy Carter, and former Georgia Bulldog great, Herschel Walker are considering their plans to challenge Warnock.
