Popular Atlanta-based music festival ONE MusicFest (OMF) recently hosted its a virtual concert #AtTheCribFest, powered by Toyota, on Saturday, Aug. 22.
Hosted by Paige Shar, the live-streamed experience included performances from Ari Lennox, Ro James, Lion Babe, Jade Novah, Ye Ali, Yung Baby Tate, Gemaine, Kenny Mason and Chavis Flagg.
With the almost two hour video on YouTube, people who missed out or want to relive the concert can still view it.
Many concerts and festivals had to cancel their events after the COVID-19 pandemic threatened the health of the public. However, many organizations have managed to create online opportunities such as the popular Verzuz battles that feature popular artists, and their catalogs, going toe to toe.
More recently, Brandy and Monica have announced that they will battle it out on Monday, August 31 with the help of Tyler Perry Studios.
However, in-person concerts are starting to slowly make a comeback with the introduction of “drive-thru” concerts where patrons observe from their vehicle.
Additionally, some artists have begun to perform in smaller venues where social distancing is possible.
An annual experience, ONE MusicFest is one of the premiere hip-hop festivals that take place in Atlanta. It’s considered the largest two-day, urban music festival in the southeast.
Last year, it celebrated its tenth anniversary at Atlanta’s iconic Centennial Olympic Park.
Created by Jason Carter, the festival has drawn many different artists including T.I., Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, H.E.R., Brandy, Lauryn Hill, Lil Wayne, Janelle Monae, The Dungeon Family, Outkast and many others.
Carter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he intended to have Cardi B grace the stage last year, but the rapper had to opt-out after given birth to her daughter months prior, and wanting to spend time with her new baby and husband.
