If multi-hyphenate TV star Nick Cannon was trying to make a statement at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, media observers are still trying to figure out what it is.

The host of the popular TV shows “Wild ’N Out,” “The Masked Singer” and now the “Nick Cannon” talk show was, shall we say, the most conspicuous of the star attendees on the red carpet at the Cobb Performing Arts Energy Center. He joined other marquee talents that decorated the proceedings, including Nelly, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Latto, Dream Doll and Tyler, the Creator.

Cannon, 40, waltzed in looking like he got hit by a paint truck.

He was outfitted in what appeared to be golden armor, red striped boxers and a white furry bathrobe. He accessorized his look with multicolored socks, mismatching Crocs, a gold cap that covered his red locs and blinged-out shades. He also carried a stack of about 15 styrofoam cups. Cannon then tagged the Instagram account for Murda Count Harlem, his alter ego, where he’s promoting his upcoming single “Countin Crack.”

Cannon, who is also the host of his own podcast and eponymous morning radio show, also dressed like Murda at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards recently. To say that Cannon was in full character would be an understatement. Like before, Cannon spoke as if he was trying to talk while someone had their hand wrapped tightly around his throat, delighting the media throng that was in attendance.

He tried to play it off like he was not at the awards show, despite the throng of media witnesses.

“Y’all gonna stop playing with me!! This is not me!!!” the Masked Singer host captioned a red carpet pic. “I’m busy working on my brand new hit Talk Show in Harlem!!! When would I have time to go all the way to Atlanta for the hip hop awards dressed in my drawlz?!!!

He was not the only one who made headlines with their outfits. Rap raven Remi Ma made the media mob jerk their heads around to eye her risqué outfit. Escorted in with her husband and fellow rapper Papoose, Remi was outfitted in a cut-out @danthony.designz red dress and gold strapped heels. She accessorized the look with an ankle-length, jet-black wig which she wore parted down the middle that nearly touched the ground.

Fans praised the femme fatale for flossing her real curvy body with one Instagram user writing, “A real body in real-time … get over it!!!”

“She about the ONLY one who understood the assignment!!” another fan commented, while another said, “Now this is a look!”

Rising raptress Latto and Bia also set the carpet afire with their provocative dresses that provided peeks in all the right places.
