The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced that four men were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (felony) and aggravated battery (felony), pertaining to a shooting that recently happened on Clayton State University’s campus.

All four suspects, Zydarius Arkady Brewer (18), Braylen Tremaine Staples (19), Ra’him Sykes (18), and Terrance Woods (18)  are now in police custody at the Troup County Jail.

The shooting took place on Saturday, October 24, with Clayton State University Police Department (CSUPD) officers responding to a call of a student being shot in Laker Hall. The student was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

GBI was requested by to assist with a shooting investigation.

The investigation found that four males were involved in the shooting incident.

Clayton State University’s on-campus surveillance system identified a vehicle leaving the area that was occupied by the shooters.

All four suspects are from LaGrange and none of the suspects are students at Clayton State University.

In addition, the suspects were in Laker Hall without the knowledge or consent of the university.
