Friday morning, Democratic Presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden, Jr, officially took the vote count lead in Georgia. In a state that has not elected a Democrat to the White House since Bill Clinton in 1992, Biden currently leads President Donald Trump by 1,096 votes. There is an estimate of 10,000 votes remaining.

Election workers in suburban Gwinnett County are expected to finalize their vote later this morning. Over the last ten years, Gwinnett has become purple and later blue due to demographic shifts. The vote there has been breaking 2-1 for Biden.

There are 3600 provisional ballots to count in Fulton County. Also, overseas military ballots need to be counted.

Not coincidentally, Stacey Abrams was praised by many people on social media. After losing the 2018 Gubernatorial race by 55,000 votes because of rampant voter suppression, Abrams and her allies, like the New Georgia Project, registered 800,000 new voters in the state since 2018 while seeking to re-engage a disillusioned electorate and bring individuals who are on the margins into the political fold.⁣

In a March 28th interview with The Atlanta Voice, Abrams eluded to the motion that would make accessing an absentee ballot easier in the wake of the emerging novel coronavirus.

“House Democrats are preparing legislation to make sure the coronavirus does not affect the 2020 election. The Democrats are introducing a measure to allow the public to send their votes in via absentee ballot, or “vote-by-mail,” as described in the House’s version of the stimulus package. This would spare citizens from the agonizing choice between practicing social distancing — protecting themselves and the rest of us from the spread of the disease — and exercising their right to vote.”

Vernon Jones, the Trump-supporting Democrat from Lithonia, attended a press conference with Donald Trump, Jr last night in Scottdale, pledging to keep fighting Biden wins Georgia and/or the Presidency.

“This fight is just getting started. We see the white in their eyes and we’re going to start shooting,” Jones said.

“We ain’t bullshitting you. If Joe Biden wins this election, there’s going to be payback. Not violence. … From the Deep State and the media and the Democratic Party – half of this country is not going to accept if Joe Biden wins. We’re putting you on notice. We’re on your ass.”

Donald Trump, Jr promised war if his father loses the election.
