Atlanta City Councilman Michael Julian Bond in partnership with The Concerned Black Clergy of Metropolitan Atlanta, Marriott International (Atlanta area), Hosea Helps Inc., Landing Tracks, and Celebs Give Back hosted an emergency “drive-thru” food distribution for Atlanta’s hospitality industry workers in need of assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The food giveaway provided grocery boxes to more than 1500 families of local hospitality workers. The boxes included fresh poultry, fresh fruits and vegetables, nonperishable food items, and cases of water.

“The hospitality industry is among the hardest-hit industries in Atlanta during the COVID-19 pandemic and with the second wave of cases rising we know people are still out of work and experiencing financial difficulty, so we want to try to ease the burden as much as we can by providing grocery boxes for hungry families in need,” Bond said.
