A fixture at CBS 46 news for 26 years, the Emmy award-winning Davis was a graduate of Clark-Atlanta University.

Several prominent journalists and local politicians expressed offered messages of condolences for Davis’ family at colleagues at CBS 46, the Fox Affiliate station in Atlanta.

Mayor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms tweeted:

Saddened to hear of the passing of @cbs46 Amanda Davis. Such a beautiful person, inside & out. My thoughts & prayers are w/ her loved ones.

Mayor Kasim Reed tweeted:

Saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Atlanta news icon, Amanda Davis. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones during this difficult time. She will truly be missed.

Davis was 62.
