Your Voice: What do YOU know, specifically about Obamacare?
Joy McNeal Scrutchings, Akron/Atlanta: “I know, #1, that it helps everybody. I know that it is going to help my father who has Alzheimer’s and can’t be insured and now he can because of Obamacare. I know that my kids who have Asthma now can get more insurance even though they have a pre-existing condition. I know that Obamacare is not going to hurt the elderly or kill the infants. It’s not going to destroy the economic system of America… It’s for everybody. Everybody should help everybody and not just leave the little people out because they feel like it.”
Aisha Woodard, Atlanta: “It is supposed provide everybody with the opportunity to have insurance… beyond that, the rules, who can apply, when to apply, where to do… it’s kind of up in the air.”
Jamicah Hunter, Atlanta: “Once people actually are able to see the benefits of enrolling I think they are going to be pleasantly surprised. A lot of what we get is lip service; talking points against it. But I think that once people actually get an opportunity to start having healthcare provided and start seeing those benefits, a lot of people are going to say hey this is something great.
