Registration is currently underway until Monday, Sept. 23, with participants paying $95 for an individual entry and $340 for a foursome. Entries after Sept. 23 will require a $15 late fee charge. Registration fees will include golf, range balls, use of a cart, and lunch. Contests during the tournament include the longest drive (male and female) and closest to the pin (male and female).
Funds raised by “Links for Leadership” will be used to fund academy uniforms, field trips and other activities that expose participants to various cultures around the world. YLAG participants are required to host and participate in community service events and fundraisers. Additionally, parents and Office of Children and Youth staff members will use proceeds from fundraisers for a scholarship fund that will be awarded to YLAG participants once they graduate high school.

Pine Lake’s LakeFest
Pine Lake Beach & Park, located at 4575 Lakeshore Drive, Pine Lake, will hold its annual LakeFest on October 5 & 6.
Now in its 14th year, the festival is a celebration of handmade fine arts and crafts, great music, local talent, and community spirit. It includes over 40 artist vendors, Health and Wellness vendor row, live music, a sand sculpture contest, chalk art contest, pet show, and a floating parade of wildly decorated watercraft.
DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau is one of the platinum sponsors this year. Festival hours are from10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 5, with an additional free concert by Tommy Dean (League of Decency) and friends, 6 to 8 p.m. A street dance will close out the festival on Oct. 6.

Dance Party & Parade Viewing Brunch
The 43rd Annual Atlanta Pride Festival will take place October 12-13. Livingston Restaurant + Bar is hosting their 4th Annual Live Life Love Party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 13. Partygoers will enjoy a brunch buffet, a prime view of the 2013 Pride Parade, and a dance party with award-winning DJ Yvonne Monet.
There will be two levels of seating available for this event. Premium seating is $40 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and includes brunch, exclusive patio seating, 2 complimentary drink tickets, and unlimited parking. Standard seating is $20 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and includes brunch, seating within the main dining room, drink specials and 3 hours of validated parking.
