Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., a renowned community leader, mentor and business icon, has been chosen to receive the 2013 Blue Legend Award at the 31st annual Spirit of Alliance Awards on Friday, September 27 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Dortch, a native Georgian, is the president and CEO of TWD, Inc. – a prominent business development firm – and the chairman emeritus of the 100 Black Men of America.

The Blue Legend Award is one of the highlights of the Spirit of Alliance gala each year.

Four filmmakers have been selected to receive top honors for Lights, Camera, Georgia Short Film Competition hosted by the BronzeLens Film Festival.

Best Overall Short Film “Fight for Hope” directed by Avery O. Williams and Stephane Dunn will receive a check for $10,000. Other top honors include 2nd “Place are Time and Money” directed by Trina Sterling and the 3rd Place competition winner is “No Way,” directed by Christopher Tribble. Both the 2nd Place and 3rd Place winners will receive a check for $5000 each.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Devin M. Carter graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Carter is a 2012 graduate of Lithia Springs High School, Ga.
