Black Mayors Convene in Atlanta

The National Conference of Black Mayors is staging its 39th Annual Convention in Atlanta this weekend at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Restore, Rebuild, Renew:  Leaving No City Behind.”

The convention will include:  chapter meetings, workshops, a golf outing, a prayer breakfast, a youth leadership summit, a Mayors forum, a Black Women Mayor’s caucus and a luncheon honoring the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.

There will also be an “Atlanta Best Practice and Development” tour and lunch, with sites chosen by Mayor Kasim Reed
