Identical twins Kirstie and Kristie Bronner have been named co-valedictorians for the Spelman College Class of 2013.
With a 4.0 GPA, the Bronners are the first twins to receive the designation in the history of Spelman.
Following graduation the sisters, both music majors, plan to record a contemporary Christian CD.
The Bronners are third-generation Spelman graduates, and the daugthters of Bishop Dale Bronner of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral.
Lorin Crawford is the valedictorian for Clark Atlanta University. The mathematics major has a 4.0 GPA.
The Chino Hills, California native plans to attend Duke University to pursue a Ph.D. in statistical science.
Computer Science major, Betegesaw Tadele is the valedictorian for Morehouse College.
The native of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia has a 3.99 GPA and will work as a tester for Microsoft in Seattle after graduation.
“On a larger scale, I think it encourages everyone around me as they can see that a boy from Ethiopia can actually succeed in America, not just Ethiopians, but anybody from any level from anywhere in the world,” said Tadele.
