ATLANTA-- Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless continues its summer efforts of assisting families and children in need, by hosting their annual “Back to School Jamboree.” The event will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Turner Field parking lot.

The event is open to all families and admission is free. Children will receive a backpack filled with school supplies. Additionally, various health screenings, clothing and fresh produce and vegetables will be provided as well as live music performances. Currently, Hosea Feed The Hungry is seeking additional donations of schools supplies, such as: pencils, ink pens, notebooks, bookbags, scissors, calculators, etc.

Celebrity Trainer to Help Pet Owners with Fitness

ATLANTA-- On Saturday, July 20, celebrity trainer and Atlanta native Dolvett Quince from NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” will host fitness classes for pet owners and their canine frienda. Starting promptly at 9 a.m. in Centennial Olympic Park, all are welcome to attend and participate in a public fitness class led by Quince, where he will demonstrate ways pet owners can get those extra pounds off their dogs.

MARTA to Hold Police Job Fair

On Saturday, July 20, 2013, MARTA will host a job fair to find team-oriented, customer-focused individuals to become one of the MARTA Police Department’s finest.

MARTA will offer on-site interviews for open police positions at the event being held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the MARTA Headquarters, 2424 Piedmont Road N.E., Atlanta, GA 30324. The MARTA Headquarters is located across the street from the Lindbergh Center Station on the Red and Gold Rail Lines.

Professional/business attire is required at the job fair. Applicants must be at least 21-years-old and are required to pass all tests related to the position, including a background investigation to include a criminal history records check, polygraph examination and a credit check.

Applicants must also pass a physical examination, including drug/alcohol screening and psychological testing. Additionally, applicants must possess a valid drivers’ license.

Pay starts at $17.12 -$19.25 an hour and MARTA offers excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement.
