Dr. Thomas Coleman has joined the advisory board of directors of Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC) in Clarkston.
Coleman recently served as chief of staff to DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis.
Coleman is a retired, highly decorated Vietnam veteran and a United States Air Force officer with more than 25 years of military service.
The Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority has recognized
Dr. Rhonda Scott, executive vice president and chief nursing officer for Grady Memorial Health System, as a 2012 Healthcare Hero.
Scott won an award intended to recognize and encourage the exceptional work and leadership of those who improve the health of citizens throughout Georgia.
The Center for Black Women’s Wellness also was honored.
Air Force Airman Daniel E. Thompson, a metro Atlanta native, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values and basic warfare principles and skills.
Thompson is a 2003 graduate of St. Pius X Catholic High School and a 2010 graduate of The University of West Georgia, Carrollton.
