Metro Digest: Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex to Offer Secure Shredding

SANDY SPRINGS - Fulton County residents who need to have personal documents shredded for security purposes will have a reliable option from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 24 at 6500 Vernon Woods Dr., Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328. There, the Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex will host a free and secure “Document Shredding” event.

This event is the result of collaboration among Fulton County Government, Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful and Cintas Document Management.

 All of the shredded paper will be recycled.  Although the event is free, donations to benefit environmental programs offered by Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful are welcomed.

Monday Night Brewing Hosts Benefit for Down Syndrome Awareness

ATLANTA – Craft beer tasting and a brewery tour will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday September 6, at Monday Night Brewing, 670 Trabert Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

Tickets are $29 in advance and $35 at the door. The ticket purchase includes beer tasting, light food, and live music. All proceeds will benefit GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta Down Syndrome Achievement Center.

George Washington Carver High School Class of ’73 Celebrates

40th Year Reunion

COLLEGE PARK - The Clerk of Fulton County Superior Court, Cathelene “Tina” Robinson, and the George Washington Carver Alumnus Class of 1973 are celebrating their 40th reunion from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, September 21.

The event will be held at Diamond Hall Center, 5495 Old National Highway, College Park, GA 30349.  Semi-formal or cosmopolitan attire is required with a $40 ticket cost.

 The theme is “Remembering the Past, Celebrating the Present and Anticipating the Future!”
