PUBIC NOTICE
Georgia Crossroads Foundation, Inc. requests public comment on proposed uses of funds for which it is applying through HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2). HUD is awarding grant funds as provided by the American Recovery Reinvestment Act of 2009. Grant funds may be awarded to state, local governments, nonprofits and a consortium of nonprofit entities on a competitive basis. Georgia Crossroads proposes the demolition of a vacant 72 unit condominium site to develop a 150 unit 62+ senior affordable housing community.
This is to give public notice that Georgia Crossroads Foundation, Inc.(a Georgia nonprofit corporation) will be applying for funds through the Department of Housing and Urban Development to renovate 72 units of a vacant condominium site located on the south side Atlanta in unincorporated Fulton County. Georgia Crossroads proposes to demolish the 20 dilapidated condominium buildings. Most of the existing structures are partially collapsed and present both safety and health hazards. The tract is located off Old National on Bethsaida Road in District 7 which is an area of substantial vacancy and foreclosure rates. This notice is to inform the public of the proposed action.
Georgia Crossroads proposes to demolish all existing structures and build a 150 unit 62+ active senior community consisting of affordable, mixed income and market rate rent plans. Design and development of this site will begin by identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. Georgia Crossroads is seeking NSP grant funds in the amount of 21 million to acquire, demolish and develop the Bethsaida Road site.
